It's a great day out for all the family.
Activites for Everyone:
During the day there will be a variety of activities going on, we shall see the return of the Clown from Feet First, who will be walking on stilts, riding his unicycle, playing tricks. There will be an opportunity to join in the Circus Workshops and learn some circus skills.
We will have the Women's Institute marquee where you can join in and enter an exhibit or just come and admire the crafts and skills on display. A full programme is available on the website so why not have a look and have a go.
We will also have a shopping area under cover with a variety of stalls including cheese, Jewellery, fashions and homeware.
Horsing around: We have horse events starting at 8.30 am in Ring 1, continuing thorough the day in rings 2-6. Some of the affiliations have changed this year, so check out the schedule and have included some new events. Please see the Horse Show section for further details and Entry Forms. Horse events will continue throughout the day providing a spectacular display of horses of all sizes from miniature ponies to Heavy Horses. The culmination of ths events takes place in the form of the “Supreme of Show” competition due to begin at 4.30pm, where the best of each category will compete to win the Mrs Whaley Memorial Trophy for the Supreme of Show. We are very pleased to announce that the Rt Hon John Hayes MP will be presenting the prize of the Supreme of Show.
We are also fortunate that the Sovereign Quarter Horses Western Horse Display Team have agreed to join us this year. Come and watch a Western style horse display for something different. Sovereign horses breed, train and hold their own Western events and are recognised for their skill and the calibre of both their horses and display team internationally, particularly in America.
Dog Lovers: For those particularly interested in dogs there will also be Dog Show being organised by “The Dog House Academy” from Thorndyke, who are specialists in Dog Training. So this year we will have the usual Pedigree classes and the classes aimed at non-pedigree dogs, but as part of the “Fun” section of the Dog Show there will be a competition to see which dog has the best skill and finesse in the art of sausage catching! See the Dog Show section of our website for a full programme.
Vehicle Fantatics: For the more mechanically minded a grand display of Vintage Vehicles, including Farm Machinery and Cars. Vehicles will parade around the ring and a history of each vehicle will be given.
